WrestleMania Ring Carts, WrestleMania III & VI

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (2)

Designed to look like mini-rings complete with turnbuckles and ropes to safely hold the Superstars, these elevated carts carried the night’s competitors to the ring. While some, such as The Orient Express, rode in stoically, as if their stance meant they were literally above the people, others, like The Rockers, used their ride as the perfect chance to share some high-fives with the WWE Universe.

Triple H, WrestleMania 22

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (3)

WWE fans have gotten used to seeing Triple H attired in finally tailored suits and expensive shoes, but when The Game made his arrival at WrestleMania 22 he was wearing something you wouldn’t find on the rack at Men’s Wearhouse. Seated on a throne of skulls with a crown on his head, The King of Kings had the fur of some strange beast he most likely took down with his bare hands draped over his shoulders. Outfitted like a character from a Robert E. Howard fantasy, Triple H didn’t just look ready to take on John Cena — he looked ready to take on the world.

Rhythm & Blues WrestleMania VI

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (4)

Walking be damned. For their memorable trek to the ring, Greg Valentine and The Honky Tonk Man, accompanied by “The Mouth of the South,” rode like royalty inside a pink Cadillac driven by Diamond Dallas Page. Together, Rhythm & Blues performed their gold-record hit, “Honk-a Honk-a Honky Love,” though sadly, the rhythm-less Bushwhackers ruined their impromptu concert.

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (5)

What’s better than seeing John Cena at WrestleMania? Seeing 200 John Cena look-alikes in one of the most engaging WrestleMania entrances to date. The entrance ramp didn’t feature a red carpet, but instead was lined on either side with John Cena clones, saluting The Champ with his “You Can’t See Me” hand gesture. The psyche-out worked, too: Cena won the World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match.

Edge, WrestleMania XXIV

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (6)

With WrestleMania XXIV held outdoors in Orlando, Fla., The Ultimate Opportunist had the luxury of emerging amid the most insane pyro of the night. Edge entered the Citrus Bowl in a haze of smoke with devil horns offered to the sky. After giving a kiss to Vickie Guerrero, and strutting all the way to the ring, The Rated R-Superstar stared down Undertaker on his way to their historic World Heavyweight Championship Match.

Undertaker, WrestleMania XX

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (7)

The WWE Universe had not seen Undertaker in action since his Buried Alive Match at Survivor Series the previous fall. But that wasn’t going to deter The Deadman from continuing his undefeated Streak. An urn-carrying Paul Bearer stepped out into a purple-lit, foggy ramp with fire-wielding druids trailing slowly behind. It was surreal. It was mesmerizing. It was an epic way to pave the return for The Phenom.

Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania XII

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (8)

You’d think a Superstar set to challenge Bret “Hit Man” Hart for the WWE Championship in an Iron Man Match would take his time coming down the aisle. After all, going up against one of the greatest technical wresters of all time for a full hour is no easy feat. But Shawn Michaels wasn’t the type of competitor who did what was expected. Blasting above the WWE Universe in Anaheim’s Arrowhead Pond on a massive zipline, HBK stole the show before he even stepped in the ring. When the bell rang, he did it again.

Triple H, WrestleMania XXVII

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (9)

Images of a scorched and trodden earth flashed upon the TitanTron, and a regiment of armor-clad warriors with shields assembled in battle formation. As Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls” blared throughout the stadium, the army scattered to reveal its king. Standing alone in a single spotlight, Triple H — wearing a skull mask designed by Tom Savini — made the most metal entrance to date.

Shawn Michaels, The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania

The 10 greatest entrances in WrestleMania history (10)

The stage was set in blinding white — a stark contrast to the black of night Undertaker cloaks himself in. With angelic illumination and plenty of smoke, Shawn Michaels — arms open to the heavens — ascended onto the stage. It was an almost religious moment; that is, until “Sexy Boy” sounded throughout the arena and the true Heartbreak Kid revealed himself.

The WWE Universe had no idea what to expect when a black Mustang with white racing stripes tore down the streets of Motor City and came crashing into Ford Field.
